Category:

EVA Hot-Melt Adhesive for Edge Banding

Rakoll® TE 5721 is an EVA-based adhesive suitable for universal use in edge banding machines, ideally with spray nozzles. It offers excellent thermal resistance, strong initial tack, and a long open time.

  • Base: unfilled EVA hot-melt adhesive.
  • Viscosity: approx. 26,000 mPa·s at 204°C.
  • Softening point: approx. 94°C.
  • Long open time: remains workable longer before pressing, allowing precise bonding.
  • Excellent heat resistance and strong initial adhesion.
  • Suitable for feed speeds above 12 m/min in edgebanding production lines.

Recommended for:

  • Edgebanding in furniture production — suitable for PVC, ABS, PP, PS, HPL, melamine, and veneer on wood-based panels.
  • High-speed production lines where bonding quality and edge appearance are critical (e.g. furniture, kitchens, cabinets).
  • Applications requiring stable adhesion with an extended open time for full contact before pressing.
  • Ambient and material temperature: 18–20°C for optimal performance.
  • Wood or panel moisture content: 8–10% for consistent bonding results.
  • Machine settings: adjust melting and application temperatures according to specific equipment requirements.
  • During long machine idle times, reduce adhesive temperature to prevent degradation and poor flow.
  • Bonding surfaces must be clean, flat, and free from dust or grease to ensure proper adhesion.
  • A high-performance edgebanding solution combining quality, long open time, smooth flow, and reliable performance in production.
  • Ideal for professional furniture and joinery operations where appearance and efficiency matter.
  • Choosing a trusted Rakoll product ensures consistent quality, production reliability, and a professional finish in every application.
