Rakoll® 5728

Category:

RAKOLL 5728 is a polyolefin (PO) hot-melt adhesive designed for high-performance edgebanding applications that demand speed, thermal stability, and consistent bonding.

  • Polyolefin-based (PO) formulation offering excellent thermal stability.
  • Viscosity approx. 45,000–50,000 mPa·s at ~204 °C — optimized flow for high-output production lines.
  • Recommended application/roller temperature: 190–210 °C.
  • Suitable for feed speeds above 20 m/min — ideal for fast-paced manufacturing.
  • Strong bonding performance on common edgebanding materials: ABS, PVC, melamine, veneer.
  • Produces a clean, thin glue line for aesthetically demanding applications.

Suitable for:

  • Edgebanding on MDF or particleboard with ABS, PVC, PP, or veneer tapes.
  • Furniture production requiring high speed, stable bonding, and excellent glue-line appearance.
  • Demanding constructions where enhanced adhesion and improved heat/moisture resistance are needed compared to conventional EVA hot-melts.
  • Maintain proper temperature conditioning of the workspace, materials, and adhesive — ideally 18–20 °C.
  • Keep bonding surfaces clean, dust-free, and grease-free — surface preparation has major influence on bonding quality.
  • Set machine parameters according to recommendations (190–210 °C, feed speed >20 m/min).
  • During long production stops, check and clean adhesive residues in the melting tank to prevent reduced thermal conductivity.
  • Store in original packaging, in a clean and dry area. Shelf life: approx. 12 months.

Delivers high-speed performance, thermal and mechanical stability, and a clean glue line — all essential for modern edgebanding operations.

Ideal for high-capacity production lines and demanding substrates that require reliable adhesion with fewer interruptions. Can provide cost efficiency through higher output, improved consistency, and reduced downtime, while maintaining top-tier bonding quality.
