Transparent Hot-Melt Adhesive for Edge Banding

Rakoll® Supermelt Plus is a transparent, filler-free EVA hot-melt adhesive designed for edge banding (PVC, ABS, PP, melamine, wood, etc.) on MDF or particleboard panels. It offers a long open time, high initial strength, and excellent adhesion even with low coat weights. Ideal for straight and soft forming applications, with heat resistance up to 100°C.

  • Base: Ethylene Vinyl Acetate (EVA) resin.
  • Color: yellowish transparent — provides an almost invisible glue line.
  • Viscosity: approx. 54,000 mPa·s at 204°C.
  • Long open time for easier processing and flexible application.
  • Strong adhesion and high initial bond strength.
  • Ideal for very low coat weights — reducing glue consumption and improving aesthetics.

Suitable for:

  • Edgebanding in furniture manufacturing — for PVC, ABS, PP, melamine, HPL, and wood edges on MDF or particleboard panels.
  • Production lines where glue line appearance is critical, as it provides a nearly invisible bond line.
  • Straight or soft-forming applications in furniture and interior joinery.
  • Ambient, material, and adhesive temperature: 18–20°C.
  • Wood moisture content: 8–10%.
  • Melting/application temperature: 180–200°C.
  • Feed speed: minimum 12 m/min (depending on machine type).
  • During long production breaks, reduce temperature to ~160°C to avoid thermal degradation.
  • Storage: sealed packaging, cool and dry location. Shelf life: approx. 12 months.
